#6

from $100.00

22x28 Acrylic on paper

Series #6 was created to honor my second adopted dog, Rango. I adopted him around 2012 or 2013. Rango was a pit bull with a big head, but he was always gentle around kids and loved giving them kisses. He brought joy to our family and became best friends with our first dog, Ms. Mandy. Back then, we lived in a condominium in Falls Church, VA, without a designated area for them to play and burn off energy. This meant we had to take them for walks early in the morning and evening. Our routine also stands with or without rain; otherwise, they will tear the house apart if skipped. While our neighbors slept, we were already out and about with our daily adventures. I remember how the morning light would shine on the grass, making the dew sparkle, our shadows long in the bright morning sun. I can’t believe that this routine was 10-plus years ago. Ms. Mandy sadly had to leave us unexpectedly due to cancer, and Rango, too, is showing the signs of age; his whiskers are turning white, lazily slumbering his days away.
